A great space for teens looking to connect, have fun, relax, and hang out. The Youth Centre (YC) is free and open to local and visiting teens on a drop-in basis.

Youth Shred Days

YOUTH SHRED DAYS are back…learn to ride the Bike Park with The YC!

Event description:

  • Dates: Thursday, August 1 and Friday, August 2 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • This event is primarily intended for Whistler youth who are new to the bike park.
  • Includes: Whistler Bike Park day pass, full-day lessons and rentals (downhill bike, full face helmet and pads: goggles and gloves are NOT included).
  • Must be 13–18 (grade 8+)
  • Participants must bring their own BACKPACK & PACKED LUNCH
  • Register for one or both days. Please note, all registrations are tentative until we have called to confirm. Program priority is for Whistler residents who are beginner biking level. We will register the others (youth in the sea to sky – Pemberton and Squamish) who are at various skill levels but cannot confirm their spot until the end of the registration period due to priority registration for beginner and resident youth and program capacity.

How to register:

  1. Before you register for Youth Shred Days you need an account in our recreation software. If you don’t already have an account call Meadow Park Sports Centre (MPSC) at 604 935-PLAY (7529) during operating hours to set one up. 
  2. Click here to register online for Youth Shred Days. use Google Chrome for the best experience.
  3. Once registration is complete, the Parent/Guardian must visit MPSC in person to complete two waivers (Youth Centre and Whistler Bike Park) before Tuesday, July 23 at 5 p.m. or you will forfeit your spot and deposit.

Facilities and activities

  • Three rooms dedicated to skateboarding, video games (XBOX One and PS4), movies and music;
  • A pool table;
  • A ping pong table;
  • Air hockey;
  • Foosball;
  • Guitars;
  • A piano;
  • Djembe drums;
  • Art supplies;
  • Board games;
  • Wi-Fi;
  • Mini ramp with skateboards and helmets to borrow; and
  • A kitchen to reheat dinner or whip up a simple cup of tea

The Interact Club of Whistler

The Interact Club of Whistler is for youth ages 12 – 18.  The group usually meet every Wednesday either on ZOOM or in The YC during the school year from 3:45 p.m. – 5 p.m. For more information check out the group’s  Facebook page

Whistler Rainbow Connection

Formerly Alphabet Soup – A great space for 2S+LGBTQ individuals and their friends, families, and community allies to connect.   Join us on the 4th Wednesday of every month. More info on location, dates, times and who’s part of this group.

The rules at The YC are simple

All local and visiting youth are asked to respect themselves, respect others and respect the space.  Drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited.

There are YC staff present when the centre is open.  The staff are there to listen, hang out, play pool and connect youth to more specific help and resources if needed.

The YC has been operating for over 15 years and is a Resort Municipality of Whistler program.
