Thank you, Whistler!

What an unforgettable four days! Our community came together from August 21 to 24 to celebrate 50 incredible years of the Resort Municipality of Whistler — honouring the Trailblazers who shaped our past and the Tomorrow Makers leading us forward.

The celebrations will continue through the fall with ongoing events and exhibitions co-hosted with resort partners. For more information, please keep scrolling.

Celebrating Trailblazers to Tomorrow Makers

The Municipality of Whistler turned 50 in 2025—and we invited the community and guests to celebrate with a vibrant four-day event series from August 21 to 24, 2025, followed by community-focused events into the fall. This was a tribute to Whistler’s adventurous roots and a celebration of the community shaping its future.

Arts Whistler

Trailblazers & Tomorrow Makers is a vibrant visual celebration of Whistler’s 50-year journey – honouring its pioneering past while imagining its creative future.

This exhibit brings together artwork from Whistler icons, as well as pieces created through a special mentorship program that paired emerging and established local artists. Spanning generations and perspectives, these artworks reflect the richness of shared stories, skills, and visions, showing how creativity thrives through connection, mentorship, and legacy. Together, they embody the spirit of Whistler—rooted in community, adventure, and innovation—tracing a cultural path from the trailblazers who carved the way to the tomorrow makers shaping what lies ahead.

The exhibit will run September 6 – October 4.

Save the date for the Art Party on September 12 from 6-8 pm! Enjoy light bites, interactive art stations and a fireside chat with the artists!

In celebration of Whistler’s 50th anniversary, The Point Artist-Run Centre (PARC) invites the community to a special fundraising exhibition: “$100 and Under!” — an eclectic and affordable showcase of local creative talent that reflects on the past 50 years and imagines the next 50. The show will run from September 20 to October 20, with an opening reception on October 4.
