Following last week’s closure of part of the trails system above the Alpine neighbourhood for public safety due to a cougar encounter, all trails are set to re-open on Friday, September 1. This includes:
- No View
- Rainbow-Flank North
- 19 Mile Creek
- Howler
- Rick’s Roast
- Cat Scratch Fever
- Green Monster
- Skywalk South
- Jaws
“Cougar Alert” signage will remain in the area, as a reminder that wildlife may be active within their home range. Consider carrying bear spray when using the alpine trails, as it is an effective defensive tool for wildlife encounters.
