The win was called “historic” by news outlets across the province when it was declared in October, after Jeremy Valeriote was named the first Green Party Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) on the mainland in the province’s history. Valeriote won the vote in the West Vancouver-Sea to Sky riding and now sits in the BC legislature on behalf of our community.
In this season’s final podcast episode, Mayor Jack Crompton speaks with the new MLA on the campaign trail, the election, the key issues that arose in our region (hello, regional transit), how the Green’s hope to help us make meaningful progress on our emissions goals, navigating the waters between the NDPs and Conservatives, and how he, as a Whistlerite, will balance his love of the mountains with his new job.
